About Me
Licensure & Education
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory designation (LISW-S), which means I’m able to independently assess and treat mental health conditions, provide ongoing psychotherapy services, and supervise other social workers including those seeking advanced licensure. I earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from The University of Toledo in 2014, and am licensed through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board (License number: I.1800771-SUPV).
Therapy Approach
My therapy approach is supportive, encouraging and nonjudgmental. I acknowledge that your experiences, needs and goals will be unique, and that means your treatment should be too. There’s not one type of therapy that works for everyone, so to ensure that your care is individualized, my work is informed by treatment modalities such as Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Our Work Together
I know firsthand that life can be incredibly challenging. Our fast paced world is filled with endless stressors and responsibilities to ourselves and others and these can be overwhelming. In addition, experiencing negative events in childhood and/or adulthood can greatly impact our beliefs, thoughts and feelings about ourselves, others, and the world in general, which affects our lives and how we show up in the world and in relationships. Each day can seem difficult to navigate, but together, we can equip you with the tools you need to get you to where and who you want to be.
Prioritizing mental wellness is important to help us manage the ups and downs in life in a healthy way that is in line with what we value. You have inner resources and potential that we’ll tap into. Learning skills to manage or change unhelpful beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and finding positive ways to create the life that you want, are things that we will work on together!
